Voters approved local propositions on emergency services taxing districts as well as a Horseshoe Bay sales tax renewal.

All 17 state constitutional amendments passed as well. (Find the story on Page 4).

Among approvals were ESD No. 10. Proposition A read: FOR THE CREATION OF BURNET COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT 10 (THIS IS A TAX INCREASE) … to provide emergency ambulance services covering the Briggs/Oakalla area in accordance with the boundaries set by Burnet County Commissioners Court and on file at the Burnet County Clerk’s office and to authorize the levy of an ad valorem tax in an amount not to exceed ten cents ($.10) on the one hundred dollars ($100.00) valuation of the taxable property within the district.”
