EDC awards $18K to EMS for emergency generator

EDC awards $18K to EMS for emergency generator
During a winter freeze, EMS personnel following loss of power had to sleep at the Marble Falls Police Department, prompting EDC to help fund an emergency generator.

Marble Falls Economic Development Corporation (EDC) members recently awarded a community leverage grant to Marble Falls Area Emergency Medical Services.

EDC President Steve Reitz, Vice President Mark Mayfield and Directors Judy Miller, John Packer (also the Marble Falls Mayor) Lindsay Plante and Dave Rhodes awarded the grant of $18,000 to Marble Falls EMS during the Nov. 5 meeting at City Hall, 800 Third Street.

According to EDC officials, the grant will give EMS funds it needs to purchase one single-phase natural gas generator from Elliott Electric Supply, primarily to support EMS first responders headquartered at 609 Industrial Boulevard.
