This year's Gifts of Christmas to honor flood victim

This year's Gifts of Christmas to honor flood victim
Malaya Hammond, was a student at Harmony School of Creative Arts, lost her life during the July 4 weekend flood.

Our annual “Gifts of Christmas” ballet is Saturday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., and the air is buzzing with excitement as final preparations are made. This marks our 10th year of our Harmony original that puts a Christian spin on the traditional Nutcracker and has been voted best theatrical production of the Highland Lakes.

The audience will be awed by the grace and strength of our oldest dancers, moved by the poise and beauty of our youth ballerinas, and warmed by the sweetness of our tiniest tots in training.

The music, the dance, and the story will inspire you. This year’s show is dedicated to one of our own Harmony girls, Malaya Grace Hammond, who lost her life in the July Hill Country flooding.

As a senior, this would have been her last year to perform in the show, and we miss her presence immensely in our studios. It is our honor and privilege to dance in her memory and for the glory of God next week. We hope you will join us as we “praise His name with dancing!”

We hope you will make plans to join us as we celebrate the Christmas season with a beautiful ballet at Hill Country Fellowship Church in Burnet.

We have moved to an e-ticketing system for this year’s show. Once tickets are purchased online, you will be emailed your tickets for show entry. Visit harmonyarts.org for tickets and to find more information about our show.

Valerie Crim is the executive director of Harmony School of Creative Arts. The nonprofit organization is located at 1503 Mormon Mill Road in Marble Falls.
