For the 25th year, the Highland Lakes Service League (HLSL) hosted its Special Needs Christmas Party.
The event has grown far beyond its early days in the Methodist Church venue and now fills Putters and Gutters in Marble Falls with laughter, joy and holiday magic. More than 300 guests, caregivers and teachers from Burnet and Llano counties were welcomed onto a red carpet, greeted by the spirited beats of the Marble Falls High School drumline.
Their music set a joyful tone as guests, from young children to adults, stepped into a celebration designed just for them.
With more than 100 HLSL volunteers pitching in throughout the day, smiles were abundant, and it was impossible to tell who cherished the experience more, those attending – or those serving.
This year, while Santa posed for photos with each guest, Mrs. Claus created a cozy moment of her own with story time.
Guests added their hand prints to a keepsake canvas that will return year after year, a growing testament to the community that gathers for this special day.
The dance floor stayed lively thanks to KBEY Radio’s Ben Shields spinning holiday favorites, while bowling, yard-style games, and face painting brought constant bursts of laughter.
Adding a festive soundtrack of their own, the jazz quartet Here Comes Treble performed throughout both sessions, keeping spirits high.
Lunch, always a beloved part of the day, was provided by Highland Lakes Chick-fil-A, and the Burnet High School choir filled the room with gorgeous harmonies and cherished Christmas carols.
And once again, Dr. Jon Hager delighted the crowd with his unforgettable violin performance atop a unicycle, a tradition that continues to inspire wide eyes and applause.
The Highland Lakes Service League, with Horseshoe Bay Resort and Putters and Gutters, wishes to extend its gratitude to the community, schools, and parents and caregivers for its trust and support of this most precious event.
