Reserve your spot at highlanderartsguild.org for the Highland Arts Guild and Gallery free oil painting demo, “Capturing the Beauty of Sunrise or Sunset,” from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15.

The instructor will be Jeffrey Neel McDaniel, a Corpus Christi native who believes that our “life is enriched by art.”

His work is inspired by the natural beauty of the South Texas coast, Big Bend and the Hill Country.

He is a signature artist with the Outdoor Painters Society and balances his painting with a career as a professional councilor and volunteering with the Texas Sea Life Center.

Through his painting he expresses his wonder, curiosity, and gratitude for the natural world.

A Licensed Professional Counselor, specializing in trauma and crisis counseling, McDaniel began painting in 2013.

With an amazing ability to capture the beauty of life around him, his work often depicts the awe-inspiring Rockport sunrises, the haunting depths of the ocean, and the brilliant colors of tropical flowers.

He has participated in the Rockport Art Festival since 2019 and has received recognition at numerous other events over the years, including 1st Place in Botanicals (Corpus Christi Art Center, 2021); Best in Show (Kerrville Art Center, 2021); 3rd Place (Outdoor Painters Society Show, 2020); and Best of Show (Watercolor Society of South Texas, 2016).

The public is welcome to to enjoy this free demonstration.

Space is limited so sign up on the website, highlandartsguild.org. The gallery is located at 318 Main St, Marble Falls.
