The Hill Country Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace has been remarkably busy as of late. So busy that it has depleted its inventory.

Because of increased demand, the chapter is now delivering its 400th bed.

A milestone level for the chapter since its founding in 2022.There for the organization will hold an unscheduled Bed Build Saturday

Jan. 31.

The event will take place at the ARK of Highland Lakes Retail Center, located at 2204 9th Street at the intersection with Industrial Blvd in Marble Falls.

Volunteers should arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. Food, beverages, all necessary tools, and essential safety gear will be supplied.

Children under 12 can join if accompanied by an adult.

Fom left Brenda Weems Joan Matura Barbara Nuss and Lynn Smith all of Highland Haven helped make beds in the past at The Warehouse in Marble Falls.

Volunteers may also pre-register by contacting Volunteer Coordinator Lorinda Peters at lorinda.peters@ shpbeds.org. Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to building and delivering beds to children in need.

Fueled by volunteers’ kindness and donor generosity, we’re growing our impact across the U.S. and beyond.

Recently the National Organization reported it reached the 90,000- bed mark in 2025 and 342,000 since its founding in 2012.

The Texas Hill Country Chapter has served Burnet, Blanco, Llano, and Lampasas Counties since 2022.

The chapter has built and delivered over 400 beds to local children through the support of 200 plus volunteers and seasonal build events. We believe a bed is a basic need for a child’s well-being, and our mission is simple: “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town.”
