Llano County Sheriff’s Office is working on two investigations involving the death or serious injury of two men in separate incidents within a five-day period.
The first case involves a man found “unresponsive” at a Kingsland residence.
“On Saturday, January 17, 2026 at approximately 7:26 pm, Deputies from the Llano County Sheriff’s Office, as well as Hamilton EMS responded to the 900 block of Airway Street in reference to an unresponsive male,” according to a statement from LCSO. “The unresponsive male was identified as Mark Berryhill of Kingsland, Texas.
“Mr. Berryhill was subsequently transported via helicopter to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas in Austin,” the statement continued. “Llano County Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and as of this release, the investigation is ongoing.”
As of deadline Jan. 22, an update on the condition of the victim was unavailable.
In another probe, LCSO officials offered potential insight about the death of 23-yearold found on the Texas 29 walking bridge adjacent to Buchanan Dam.
“On Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026 at approximately 8:09 a.m., members of the Llano County Sheriff’s Office and Burnet County Sheriff’s Office responded to the bridge located at the at the county line on Texas 29,” according to the LCSO statement. “A 23-year-old male was found unresponsive on the ‘Walking Bridge.’
“The 23-year-old male was found to have sustained a selfinflicted gunshot wound,” the statement continued. “This was an isolated incident and there was no immediate danger to the public.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family involved during this difficult time.”
No word on whether the two cases are related, however, authorities offered information to those who would consider a similar fate.

The identification of the victim is pending.
