The Marble Falls City Council cleared the way for a new hotel project at a site, formerly known as Kempers Corner RV Park on Lake Marble Falls, during the Jan. 20 meeting at City Hall, 800 Third Street.

By a 4-1 vote, the council approved a conditional use permit for development of a new four-story Marriott Hotel with more than 100 rooms over 92,000 square feet near 290 Old River Road and FM 2147 West within the city Downtown Transition District.

“It (the development) falls within allowed use for the district,” Director of Development Services Scarlet Moreno told council members.
