Lorraine Anna Dirks

December 6, 1931 — June 22, 2024 The promise of a life filled with love and understanding is what we all desire. The promise of a life with service to the Lord with love and understanding for all is the fulfillment of our promise to God to be a better person.

The promise of a life filled with love and understanding is what we all desire. The promise of a life with service to the Lord with love and understanding for all is the fulfillment of our promise to God to be a better person. Lorraine Dirks met these promises with grace and love for all. On June 22, 2024, after a short illness, Lorraine Dirks joined the church triumphant. Lorraine Anna Dirks of Marble Falls, Texas was born on December 6, 1931, to Wilhelm and Dena Mensing in West Concord, Minnesota. Lorraine was the oldest of eight children. She graduated from McGrath High School on June 3, 1949, and then went to Minneapolis, Minnesota and attended Minneapolis School of Practical Nursing and graduated in December of 1950. She worked full time as an LVN until 1995 when she retired.

She married Donald (Don) Dirks on June 7, 1952, in West Concord, Minnesota. They lived in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin until January of 1978 when they moved to Marble Falls, Texas. Four children were born of that marriage. Debbie Reid, Daryl Dirks, James Dirks and Jon Dirks.

Lorraine is survived by three children, Debbie Reid, Daryl Dirks and Jon Dirks. Five grandchildren, Matthew Reid (Carol), Michael Dirks (Christina), Dale Dirks (Crystal), Andrea Stepan (Jason) and Rachel Brown (Alan). Seven great-grandchildren, Hunter Reid, Kendall Reid, Joshua, Jacob, and Emma Dirks, and Dylon and Caitlyn Dirks. And one great-greatgranddaughter, Ella Reid. One brother, Richard Mensing (Beverly), and sisters-in-law, Pauline Mensing and Kathleen Mensing. And many dear friends and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents, Wilhelm and Dena Mensing, a son, James Dirks, son-in-law, Darby Reid, her sister, Arlene Murphy, and brothers, Lloyd, Walter, Henry, Lawrence and William Mensing, sister-in-law, Betty Mensing, and brother-in-law, Lowell Murphy.

Lorraine has been very active in St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, and the Eastern Star in Marble Falls.

She will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her. There will be a memorial service at a time to be determined at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Marble Falls, Texas.
