Birders to host speaker with good nature advice

Birders to host speaker with good nature advice
On May 7, Craig Hensley (self portrait) will speak about the ‘Ties that Bind: Pollinators, Native Plants and Us’, as a guest of the Highland Lakes Birding and Wildflower Society.

Earth, we have a problem.

It has been recognized for many years now that insect populations across the globe are in decline. While reasons are still being fleshed out and much research is underway, the reality is all around us, if only we take the time to really observe. And, while we cannot solve all the issues, those of us that care about the future of our children and grandchildren can take steps now to help on the local level.

Lifelong naturalist and educator Craig Hensley invites you to join him for a look into the world of insects, specifically pollinators, to learn how they make the world go around. He will share what he has learned over his career about these fascinating animals, the plants they pollinate, amazing acts of pollination going on outside our windows on a daily basis, and most importantly, what each of us can do to make a positive difference.
