Rotarians hosts lazy, lucrative couch potato event
Marble Falls firefighters were on site in case anyone over-exerted themselves for the 0.5K, from left Dr. Mendy Cockrell, Captain Rowan Arnold, Firefighter Jarrett Freeman, Firefighter Colby Cox, Firefighter Chris Coronado and heckler Karl White.

Harmony Park in downtown Marble Falls was filled with a different kind of race-day energy on Saturday, April 11 – the kind that shows up a little late, moves at its own pace, and laughs the whole way through.

The Rotary Club of Marble Falls 0.5K Couch to Recliner kicked off at 11 a.m., because as organizers put it, “who wants to get up earlier than that.” Framed as a race from the recliner to the couch, the second annual event leaned fully into its reputation.

Covering a determined 1,640 feet through historic downtown, participants arrived ready, not necessarily to compete, but to enjoy themselves. Pajamas, costumes, and comfort-first attire dominated the starting line.
