Marble Falls High School sophomore Graham Goggans will compete in the 800 meters at the Class 4A state meet, ensuring three runners from the Class 4A Region III meet are at the starting line in two weeks.
Goggan took bronze in the 800 meters in 1 minute and 54.49 seconds behind Salado junior Daniel Anderson, who won gold in 1:53.24 and China Spring sophomore Camden Paden, who took silver in 1:54.46. Anderson’s time ranks in the top 25 and Goggan and Paden’s times rank in the top 50 in the state.
“(Goggans) earned the wildcard with the fastest non-automatic qualifying time across all regions (among the bronze medalists) and gets to go to state,” distance running coach Brenda Gonzalez said.
