Memorial Day is a season of remembrance, and remembrance is a quiet act. It happens in pauses, in shared coffee, in the few measured notes of a bugle call.

This Memorial Day weekend, Belóved Gallery in Marble Falls will mark the holiday with a simple gesture of gratitude inside the Belóved Café, where guests come not only for coffee but for community and connection.

On Friday, May 22, at 10 a.m., the community is invited to gather in Belóved Café for complimentary drip coffee for active military and veterans, followed by the playing of Taps as we honor the fallen and reflect on the freedoms their service has preserved.

Local veterans, organizations, and community members who feel led to participate are welcome and encouraged to come together in remembrance, gratitude, and unity.

Belóved ministry ambassador and veteran, Jason Cain, shares, “Ceremonially acknowledging our brave men and women who gave it all for our freedom is one of the most honorable acts we can do in their memory.”

“This is a season for gathering, and for gratitude,” said Alaina Wood, Chief Brand Officer of Belóved Gallery. “We wanted to create a quiet, welcoming space where neighbors, families, and the men and women who have served can sit together and honor those we have lost. Everyone is welcome at the table.”

Belóved Café is a welcoming space for coffee, community, and connection in support of Belóved Gallery. Home to Akiane: The Early Years, Belóved Gallery features the world’s only public exhibition of master fine artist Aki ane Kramarik’s original works, including Prince of Peace, the portrait she painted at just eight years old. Admission to the gallery remains free as part of Belóved’s mission to welcome one million guests at no cost. The café is open to the public, and reservations for guided tours of the exhibition can be made at belovedgallery.org.

The gallery is also marking the start of the summer season with new Saturday hours. Beginning Saturday, May 23, the Belóved Café will open at 10 a.m., with the first gallery tours of the day starting at 11 a.m. The Belóved Café will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.
