On Friday, June 12 at 2 p.m., Lakeshore Library will present a special screening of "Making of a Million". The Nature Conservancy collaborated with Chet Garner, host of PBS's The Daytripper, to create these short films about the irreplaceable value of our remaining wild places. Underwritten by H-E-B, the series spotlights some of the million acres TNC has protected in Texas.
The series includes: West Texas: From the highest sky island peaks to the deepest freshwater springs to the darkest night skies, uncover the unique landscapes and wildlife that make TNC's West Texas nature preserves so special; Grasslands: Explore one of North America's most bio-diverse and most endangered-landscapes. Within TNC's grassland nature preserves in Texas, discover hidden worlds, connecting the dots between the Blackland Prairie, coastal prairies and desert grasslands; and Fresh Water: Enjoy an unforgettable adventure as Garner uncovers the vital role fresh water plays in connecting us all. Discover why water is more than a resource - it's the lifeblood of the Lone Star State.
This program is free and open to the public; RSVPs are appreciated. For more information or to RSVP, call 325-379-1174 or email [email protected].
