Volunteers load Fireplug Freeway on the road to rescue

In a collaborative effort that embodies compassion and community spirit, 365 Pet Connection and rescue partner Saving Shelter Strays from Bandera have been rescuing and transporting pets together for several years.

This partnership often involves taking in some of the moms with pups and rehabilitating heartwormpositive and surgery dogs. However, in Texas, there is a significant challenge: all pet rescue outlets are overwhelmed with unwanted animals.

The overabundance of abandoned animals has led the organizations to gradually adopt out and transport dogs to the Pacific Northwest.
