New voting software system approved

The Burnet County Commissioners Court recently approved the purchase of new voter software, including more than 40 new “poll books” that will compile and record voter identifications and registrations.

The Burnet County Commissioners Court recently approved the purchase of new voter software, including more than 40 new “poll books” that will compile and record voter identifications and registrations.

According to county election officials, the new electronic system produced by Voter Focus will be activated during the November election.

“It is so simple to operate,” County Elections Administrator Doug Ferguson told the commissioners during the July 23 meeting. “It is really portable.”
