The Mustangs shots weren’t falling in their District 26-5A opener against Boerne Champion on the road Friday afternoon.

Marble Falls scored only nine points in the first half, including a 3-pointer by Kameron Wright at the buzzer to trail, 21-9, at halftime.

The shooting woes continued in the second half and Boerne Champion went on the post a 55-29 victory over the Mustangs, who were coming in with momentum after winning the Cameron Yoe Tournament.

Boerne Champion’s 6-7 post Tristan Green altered plenty of shots for the Mustangs and was key to disrupting any momentum for the Mustangs.

Marble Falls will travel to Kerrville Tivy Tuesday for another District 26-5A battle.

Tivy, Boerne Champion, Alamo Heights and Dripping Springs all won their openers.
The Mustangs district home opener is Friday against Seguin.
