Also, those attending the meeting members are asked to bring hand sanitizer or single packet wipes to be donated to the Hill Country Coalition who will deliver them to the National Border Patrol Union office in Edinburg. Officials have expressed an “urgent” need for the items.

Border officers often come in direct physical contact with illegal immigrants who are carrying communicable diseases such as flu, chicken pox, measles and more,” according to the BCRW press statement. “As a consequence, border officers are in danger of spreading diseases to their families and the community.”

The Burnet County Republican Women serve in a variety of ways including participation in projects such as “Caring for America,” which keeps members engaged in community service by volunteering their time for local philanthropical activities.
