Senior Alfonso Soto is one of the Mustangs' captains this season. The team has lost significant players in the past two seasons and are leaning on their seniors more than ever.

The Marble Falls boys soccer team (2-8-1) is in an unfamiliar position prior to the start of District 17-5A. The team is not only not undefeated, they're below .500.

“I told my boys to forget about the record,” Mustangs Head Coach Rick Hoover said. “Last year, we were 12-0 going into the district, and guess what, we lost the first district game.”

The Mustangs open district play on Tuesday, Jan. 28 against Leander Rouse.
