State park to offer activities catered to the disabled

Inks Lake State Park, 3630 Park Rd 4 W, in Burnet County, will host a Fun for All event for Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. for a day of activities adapted to suite a range of abilities including: Kayaking with the new ADA transfer bench and additional equipment and assistance provided by Camacho Activity Center; Fishing at the TPWD Derby Pond stocked with catfish and fishing equpment provided (please bring a cooler and ice, or buy ice from the park store if you want to keep your catches, limit TBD); Archery with wheel-chair accessible shooting area with adaptive equipment and coaching from the Lonestar Paralysis Foundation; GRIT – chairs are available for off pavement trail and a challenge course for some extra fun. A valid Day-use Pass required.

Court will decide if immigration law went to far

An attorney defending a new state law allowing law enforcement officials to arrest people who cross the border illegally told a panel of federal judges the law possibly “went too far,” The Dallas Morning News reported. The 5th U.S. Circuit of Appeals previously halted enforcement of the law and is now hearing arguments over its legality.
