Tuesday, Feb. 6, Highland Lakes Retired Teachers Association will feature a special presenter, Bessie Jackson, who will speak about the Marble Falls Black History Museum. Many of you may already know her because she is such an involved and devoted community volunteer. We welcome guests and all retired teachers to our meeting, which is held at Marble Falls Church of Christ, 711 Broadway (south entrance). The third annual Tame the Mustang 5K/10K is just around the corner on Saturday, March 2, at 8 a.m. in Old Oak Square, downtown Marble Falls. Registration is $35 for the 5K and $40 for the 10K. Student discounts are available. All proceeds benefit the Mustang Band and the Marble Falls Education Foundation. The race is USATF certified. The Hill Country Community Theatre (HCCT) is delighted to unveil its upcoming production of the Off-Broadway sensation, ‘The Marvelous Wonderettes.’ The shows will run from Feb. 2 to 18, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. in Cottonwood Shores at 4003 W FM 2147. The adult ticket price is $27, youth tickets are $17, plus applicable fees for each. The Hill Country Community Theatre (HCCT) will present the enchanting world of George Bailey and his heartwarming story, set in the late 1940s during a live radio broadcast, “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.” The show, which will run on weekends from Dec. 1 through Dec. 17, captures the spirit of the season. It’s an event that you won’t want to miss -- you’ll feel like you’re right there in the studio, witnessing the creation of a live radio broadcast.
