COVID-19 prompts new parade rules

The Light-up Parade features non-profit and school groups from across the Highland Lakes, traveling down Main Street in Marble Falls to the 30th annual Walkway of Lights.

Coordinators want partici pants to know that they must attend the Light-up Parade Mandatory Safety Meeting on Nov. 16 at Lakeside Pavilion, 307 Buena Vista Lakeside Park, in order to be a part of the activities.

The meeting is from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. when drivers will receive parade credentials. Please bring a valid drivers license, proof of insurance and payment.

Marble Falls/Lake LBJ Chamber officials are requiring that all children on floats, cars, pickups or any other motorized be accompanied by an adult . Those in the procession must wear a face covering.

Organizers will be collecting copies of proof of current liability insurance.

Participants will not be handing out or tossing candy, merchandise or souvenirs to the public.
