Burn bans in both Llano and Burnet County are no longer in effect after the area received enough precipitation.
Llano County lifted its burn ban on Thursday, Dec. 31, according to a press release from County Judge Ron Cunningham. Burnet County also had removed its prohibition against outdoor burning due to the amount of rainfall the area received during a wet spell late last month.
Rural area residents can burn brush outdoors but are cautioned to have a water source nearby, and contact the sheriff's department to inform them of the burn to avoid calls about brush fire concerns. Call BCSO at 512-756-8080 and LCSO at 325-247-5050.
