December 18, 1970 — July 19, 2020

Bentley A. Martin was born December 18, 1970 in Binghamton, NY. He joined his Heavenly Father on July 19, 2020 at the age of 49, from complications from a massive heart attack.

Bentley was a Marble Falls graduate, where he found his love of writing at the high school newspaper. He used his story telling abilities to lead a congregation at Cottonwood Shores Community Church for 12 years as the pastor. As the pastor he was able to do mission work and guide many people and children to the Lord.

The love for his community lead him to the mayor position of Cottonwood Shores. He held this position until the passing of his parents. He took that as an opportunity to venture from the area he always called home.

He started his adventures in Port Aransas, where he took a position as a property manager. He was able to turn that into a once in a lifetime opportunity and ventured to China. He spent a year in Dalian, China, where he was able to absorb the culture and hone his cooking skills.

He came back to Texas where he turned Corpus Christi into his home. His hard work as a property manager didn’t go unnoticed and was asked to move to San Antonio to improve another location.

He was the property manager of Shippy Property Management in San Antonio at the time of his passing.

Bentley was preceded in death by his father and mother, B.E. “Tuff” and Alice Martin, of Cottonwood Shores.

He is mourned by his brothers and sisters; Curt & Nancy Carter of Condor, NY; Rich & Julie Carter of Oxford, NY; Penny & Kevin Cronk of Apalachin, NY; June Blaylock of Peckville, Pa.; Skeeter & Peggy Martin of Fort Worth, Texas; Kathy Pope of Halstead, Pa; Cindy and Ron Latronica of Marble Falls Unnamed sister of Kirkwood, NY; Butch Hunziker of Copperas Cove, Texas; Bengie Martin of Kingsland, Texas; Mike & Darlene Martin of Granite Shoals, Texas; Tim Martin of Kingsland, Texas, and so many nieces and nephews.

At his request there will be no services and his ashes will be spread at the Texas Coast, where he felt most at home, by his lifelong friend, Geri Pickens, aka Mama P.
