Edward James Braun Jr., 81, of Marble Falls, Texas, passed away from Parkinsons Disease at his home on October 31, 2020.

Edward James Braun Jr. was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 28, 1939 to Edward and Carmen Braun. He graduated from Downers Grove Lee High School; he joined the Navy Reserve where he served as a submariner for one year. After his stint in the Navy Reserve, Edward continued to serve his country and joined The United States Marine Corp for four years. Following an honorable discharge, Ed married the love of his life, Heidemarie Pfannschmidt, in 1961 and soon had three sons: Edward, Charles and Thomas.

Edward continued his career path when he found his passion in the foundry industry. In 1962 Ed began his lifelong career as a foundryman in Addison, Illinois. In 1970 Ed moved his family to Austin, Texas where he was a plant manager of Pure Castings. Shortly following, the Braun’s relocated to Marble Falls where Ed’s career flourished.

He partnered two foundries in Burnet County, Highland Lakes Quality Castings and Sure Cast, before pursuing his career at Buntrock Industries where he worked for twentyeight years and traveled all over the western United States, Canada and Australia. He took great pride in his work. Ed enjoyed traveling to Europe with his wife and he loved snow skiing and water skiing with his sons. He had a very full and rich life. Ed was an invested family member and leader who always cared, loved and looked out for his entire family.

Edward is survived by his wife, Heidemarie Braun; his children, Ed, Chuck, and Tom and his wife Amber; his six grandchildren Michael and his wife Hannah Braun, Cassye Braun Harrelson, Cayla Braun, Jessica Braun, Heidi Braun and Charley Braun; his five great-grandchildren Cayten Harrelson, Fowler Harrelson, Tinsley Braun, Amelia Braun and Walter James Braun; his younger brother Chuck and wife Sharon Braun, along with five nephews.

Edward’s six grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls. Funeral service will be Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020 at 10 a.m., also at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home.
