Sammie Jack Tarbet left this world to join his wife with the Lord in Heaven on Monday, July 27, 2020, passing peacefully at home with family.

Sam Tarbet was born in Lamesa, Texas on Oct. 12, 1946 to Price Keith and Ethel Tarbet. He was the youngest of seven with four brothers (Joe, Don, Bob, and Lynn) and two sisters (Nelda and Ruth). Sam grew up on a small farm in Ackerly, Texas. He attended Lubbock Christian College and Abilene Christian College where he made lifelong friendships. He moved to Austin Texas in 1972 and on February 22, 1973, Sam and Linda met for a first date at Nighthawk steakhouse, and, as they say ...”the rest is history.” Sam and Linda were married at the Austin Presbyterian Seminary Chapel on July 26, 1975. Sam and Linda then moved to Horseshoe Bay in 1976. Their first son, Samuel Justin, was born in 1978. They built their first home in 1979. Their second son, Jonathan David, was born in 1979, and finally their third son, Benjamin Wade, was born in 1982. Sam worked tirelessly in real-estate, at home, and at Church to provide a wonderful and loving life for his family.

Sam began his real estate career in Horseshoe bay working for Norman and Wayne Hurd. He enjoyed his work there and continued in real estate and helped develop the area for 46 years. In that time he gained many friends and colleagues and was an integral part of the community.

Sam was a faithful Christian and member of the Church of Christ throughout his life. He was a member and volunteer at the Marble Falls Church of Christ for 30 years followed by the Lake Country Church of Christ for the last 14 years.

Sam is now reunited with his loving wife Linda, who passed away on April 13, 2017, and his oldest brother, Joe, on April 10, 2019. Sam is survived by his three sons and two granddaughters. Justin and his wife Lauren of Pflugerville with their two daughters, Madison Brooke and Ava Sunshine; Jonathan of Marble Falls; and Benjamin of Marble Falls. He is also survived by his brothers (Don, Bob, and Lynn) and sisters (Nelda and Ruth) as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, and an abundance of friends and colleagues.

There will be a family visitation held on Monday, Aug. 3, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 US 281 N, Marble Falls.

The memorial service will be held at the Marble Falls Church of Christ, 711 Broadway, on Tuesday Aug. 4, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.
