A Highland Haven man’s body was found in Lake LBJ a day after he was reported missing during a boat ride on Lake LBJ, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife On Thursday, Dec. 10, searchers recovered the body of Rowdy Brafford, 60, around 9:45 a.m.
The planned Collier operation on private property — proposed to begin operations in March 2021 — would be located west of RM 2900 Bridge.

LCRA delays drawdown until 2022

The Lower Colorado River Authority does not plan to draw down any of the pass-through lakes in the Highland Lakes chain in 2021. This applies to lakes Inks, LBJ, Marble Falls and Austin.

Two years after a historic flood event devastated the Highland Lakes area, the community has not forgotten what happened that fateful day - Oct. 16, 2018. The Llano Bridge was closed to traffic - and remained so for most of the day - for fear it was compromised due to the a tremendous amount of fast flowing water going under the bridge, only one of two feet from the roadway of the bridge.
The proposed budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $18,138, or 10 percent, of which, $3,740 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll. Highland Haven has had the lowest tax rate of any incorporated city in Burnet County for many years. Contributed

HHaven to hold hearing on FY 2021 budget

Highland Haven’s Board of Aldermen will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, and to receive comment on the proposed fiscal year 2021 budget at the Highland Haven Community Center City Hall, 118 Blackbird Drive. Following the hearing, the Board of Aldermen may vote to adopt the budget for fiscal year 2021.

Authorities investigate separate drownings in two days

Game wardens and Horseshoe Bay police officials are investigating two fatalities which occurred within days of each other on Llano County waterways. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) investigators have determined an incident on the Llano River to be an "accidental drowning," while police continue to sift through clues connected to a body found floating in Lake LBJ in Horseshoe Bay.
