A two-vehicle collision June 9 on Texas 71 killed one person, half a mile east of Marble Falls, according to the Department of Public Safety report.

The accident was reported at 12:02 p.m. that day, when a 2014 Ford Fusion, driven by Loretta McClinton, 46, of Spicewood collided with a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 62-year-old Spicewood man at the intersection of CR 403.

McClinton was pronounced dead by Burnet County Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace Debbie Bindseil at 12:14 p.m.

The report stated that the Ford was stopped at CR 403 facing southbound; the Dodge pickup was traveling westbound on Texas 71

“Unit 1 (the Ford) failed to yield the right-of-way and entered the intersection in front of unit 2 (the pickup),” the report stated. “Unit 1 came to rest in the eastbound ditch facing west.

“Unit 2 came to rest on the southbound side of the road facing east,” the report continued.

The accident is under investigation.
