Highland Haven could have a special election this fall to adopt a local sales and use tax like other municipalities in the county.

Aldermen are expected to consider an ordinance authorizing Mayor Olan Kelley to call for a special election to adopt a 2 percent tax at their 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, meeting.

The board is also expected to discuss selection of Planning & Zoning Commission representatives as well as authorizing the mayor to install traffic control devices and signs and the establishment of a three-way stop at Redbird and Blackbird.
