Marble Falls Rodeo officials have decided to cancel their summer event, due to concerns about possible transmission of the coronavirus.

The event was scheduled for July 17 and 18 and the Charley Taylor Arena on U.S. 281 in the south end of Marble Falls.

The event typically features a downtown parade, a dance, food and rodeo competition. Organizers say they are planning for next year’s event.

“The Board of Directors for the Marble Falls Rodeo Association have come to the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Marble Falls Rodeo due to COVID 19,” stated spokeswoman Jacque Horn. “We are disappointed, but we feel this is the right decision at this time.

“We want everyone to stay safe and healthy and to be ready for a big show next year. Thank you,” she added.
