Students and staff across Marble Falls Independent School District participated in a specialized curriculum on Veterans Day designed to learn about the service of United States military members.

All learners – from kindergarten to high school, remote and in-person – took part in instruction centered on veterans and their stories.

Second graders learned about adjectives by describing those who served; fifth graders were visited remotely by Lynn Cox from the Daughters of the American Revolution; and students of all ages drew, painted and sketched art that symbolizes the holiday.

The special curriculum day was prioritized by the MFISD Board of Trustees during the creation of the instructional calendar in the summer. Trustees wanted to keep the day intact while incorporating any remote learners.
