William Lee “Bill” Penn

William Lee “Bill” Penn

October 17, 1949 -July 1, 2025

William “Bill” Lee Penn, 75, of Marble Falls, Texas, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Bill spent most of his life in Texas, where he built a life centered on service, hard work, and deep love for his family. He served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1971. After returning home, he spent much of his career as a dedicated new home salesman.

In 2012, Bill began a new chapter as a school bus driver in Marble Falls — a role he cherished deeply. He often spoke of the joy he found in his coworkers and the children he drove each day. He retired in 2021, proud of a 50-year working life spent in the service of others.

A lifelong learner, Bill fulfilled a decades-long dream by earning his bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University Highland Lakes in 2018 — an accomplishment that brought great pride to him and his family.

Bill had a passion for reading, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his loved ones. In his later years, he developed a love for genealogy, which often led him and his wife on trips across Texas and occasionally across state lines to search for family tombstones. Bill also had a deep affection for his dachshunds, loyal companions who brought him constant joy and comfort.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose quiet strength and sense of humor left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Teleia; his three children, Jason Penn, Jeff Penn, and Rebecca Salazar; his grandchildren, Bennett Penn and Tate Penn; his daughter-in-law, Kim Penn; his son-in-law, David Salazar; his brother, Rob Penn; his sisters, Lonna Rhoads and Lynda Scroggins; his brother-in-law, Derek Smith; and sister-inlaw, Alicia Marek, and her husband, Ken Marek.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Penn.

Bill will be laid to rest at Aspermont Cemetery in Aspermont, Texas.

He will be remembered for his integrity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family, and will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
