Anita was the beloved mother of four children, grandmother of six, and greatgrandmother of four. She was born and raised in Leesville. Louisiana, alongside her brothers Jimmy and Larry. Her family later relocated to Houston. Texas, where she met the father of her children, Robert Calvert. She spent much of her life in Texas, eventually settling in Llano and later Marble Falls, where she built both her home and her legacy.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Miller Monk; her father. James Marion Monk; her brother, Lany Ellsworth Monk; and her son.

She is survived by her brother. Janies Marion Monk: her children Debbie Gray (husband Powell Gray). Pam Brvk (husband Mike Bryk), and David Calvert: her grandchildren Drew Calvert, Sara Bagby. Jason McGilbeny (wife Megan McGilbeny), Josh Calvert, Anton Gray, and Lindsey Gray: and her greatgrandchildren Emma Bagby.

From a young age, Anita pursued her love of ice skating, excelling in the sport and performing in ice shows. Her passion, discipline, and grace carried into every aspect of her life.
Anita dedicated over 40 years of her life to serving others as a Clinical Social Worker in Marble Falls. Texas. She earned her PhD from the University of Houston and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, specializing iu social work and marriage and family therapy. Throughout her career, she was a fierce advocate for children, often serving as their voice in the court system and working tirelessly to protect their rights and well-being. To many, she was nothing short of an angel.
Her compassion extended beyond her profession. Anita opened her home as a foster mother for many years, providing love, stability, and care to countless children in need. Following the passing of her son Steven, she lovingly took in and raised her grandson Drew, exemplifying her unwavering commitment to family.
Anita placed her children at the center of her world and remained a trusted friend and confidant to her daughters throughout their lives. She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible.
She also created cherished family traditions, including the beloved “Group Solitaire,” a unique and lively game played on the floor by the entire family. What began as a simple activity became a lasting tradition that brought laughter, connection, and generations together.
Anita enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, including traveling and occasional trips to Las Vegas and Louisiana, where she embraced a bit of fun and adventure.
Anita June Calvert will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and the countless lives she touched. Her legacy of love, advocacy, and resilience will live on through her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Funeral services will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home 1805 N US 281. Marble Falls, TX 78654 on Friday, April 3.2026 2:00pm.
