Charlie Porter Jones, Jr. was born on June 12. 1944 in Benton Harbor.MI. and passed away on March 23. 2026 at the age of 81.

Porter was the son of Violet Jones and Charlie Porter Jones, Sr. He is survived by his sisters Frances Saddoris and Linda Ramsey.

He served in the United States Air Force from July 20.1965 to January 1. 1969. After Porter got out of the Air Force he got his flying license and spent most of his life crop dusting in south Texas, Arizona and Idaho. After 30 years of crop dusting and walking away from a bad accident, he retired.

He moved with his mother to some acreage he purchased on the Shilling Williams Air Strip near Kingsland. He developed 10 additional hanger lots with a taxiway and sold them later.

Porter took care of his mother until she passed away on August 5. 2009 at the age of 90. Her ashes were scattered around Lake Flying J. His ashes will be scattered on the same lake.
