Angeline “Angie” Jane Jones Bergman passed away Dec. 24, 2020, while hospitalized in Round Rock. She was 73 years old.

Angie was born March 24, 1947 in Blanco, Texas to Walton “Casey” Jones and Ruby (Preiss) Jones. She grew up in Round Mountain on the TP Ranch, where Casey was foreman.

She attended school in Marble Falls where she met her future husband Wallace Dale Bergman. Dale and Angie were married in the summer of 1965 after her graduation from MFHS. They moved to Austin where Dale attended the University of Texas, and after graduating worked in the city. Angie worked for the Texas Attorney General’s Office.

In 1974 they moved back to their hometown of Marble Falls to raise their children, Cliff and Robin. They also started a business, Bergman Engineering, where they worked together many years. In 1987 Angie went to work for Mike Atkinson’s State Farm Agency, where she became the office manager, and worked for almost 33 years until her passing.

Angie was a beloved fixture at events in the area, and a long time supporter and volunteer of many community groups and organizations.

Angie’s father was one of the original directors of the Marble Falls Rodeo Association. She was also MF Rodeo Queen in 1964. Angie was heavily involved in the MF Rodeo Association from the late 70s throughout the 80s, being the coordinator of the Rodeo parade and the Rodeo Queen’s contest. She was also a director for the Burnet County Fair & Rodeo Association.

Angie was also greatly involved in the Marble Falls/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce. Serving many years as a director. She was one of the original committee members for The Walkway of Lights and helped organize many wonderful community events over the years.

She was instrumental in events such as: Howdy Roo, Christmas by the Lake, Lakefest, Moonlight Madness, the Centennial Celebration, Main St Market Days and the City Wide Garage Sale. For her efforts she was honored as Chamber “Director of the Year”, a “Friend of the Chamber” award winner, and in 2002 she and Dale were given the Chamber’s most prestigious award “Citizen of the Year”.

Angie loved her family, friends, customers and community. She will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her beloved Father and Mother, Casey and Ruby Jones, and her husband Dale. She is survived by her loving children, Cliff Bergman and Robin Bergman, both of Marble Falls. Along with numerous other family and close friends she considered family.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2021.
