Charles Raymond LeMeilleur Jr., 73, of Kingsland, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2021 in his home after a long battle with cancer.

Raymond was born in Kerrville September 18, 1947, to Charles Raymond and Louise LeMeilleur. He was a graduate of Tivy High School Class of 1966. He went on to play football at Ole Miss University for two years before transferring and receiving a bachelor’s degree in aquatic biology from Southwest Texas State University.

He became a coach/ teacher in Freer and Karnes City High School, where he had a passion for football and track. Raymond left education, worked in sales, and then retired from DPS in Austin as a maintenance supervisor.

Raymond leaves behind two daughters, Kim LeMeilleur Wolff (Justin), of San Antonio and Laren LeMeilleur Sharp (Michael), of Comfort, and three beautiful grandchildren Conner, Madeline, and Kenzie Rae who he loved very much. He also leaves behind a very loved and devoted partner in life, Helen Durst.

He was very proud to be a part of the LeMeilleur family of Kerrville; to share his life with his siblings, Bonnie Ward, Gwynne Fikes, Jimmy LeMeilleur, and many wonderful cousins. He was happy to share laughs, stories, and memories of his youth with his kids and grandkids.

Daddy Doc, as his grandkids called him, spent his free time fishing in the lakes and rivers of Texas.

He was an experienced and avid fisherman sharing his skills, and patience, with his family and friends. He was also a good golfer playing many tournaments and holes with friends and family too.

Memorial services for Raymond will be delayed until a later date of April 3, location pending. More information to follow due to COV ID restrictions and guidelines. Please visit PutnamCares.com for an online guest register.
