Georgia Corine CarterStover, loving mother of three children, passed away on November 23, 2020 at the age of 92 in Marble Falls, Texas.

Georgia was born on August 31, 1928 in Salado, Texas to Marion and Ada Carter. She was the seventh of their eight children.

Georgia could be best described as independent, working in her younger years in an ice cream parlor, as a telephone operator, an inhome day care owner, and a bookkeeper. She started out keeping books for a local construction company, then got a job at the Williams Pharmacy in Marble Falls, where she was affectionately given the nickname “Shorty,” due to her small stature. After Williams Pharmacy, she took up her final job, a bookkeeping position at the Meadowlakes Country Club in Marble Falls until her retirement in the 1980s.

Upon her retirement, she resumed her social butterfly status. Every morning she would meet her friends for coffee at the McDonald’s in Marble Falls. She loved live music and would carpool with friends to watch a concert. She never passed on a chance to play bingo or dominoes, she could devour a book in a single sitting, and her family knows her as a master of crosswords puzzles. She was the life of the party, even until the last week of her passing. Her family and caretakers described her as “funny” and “feisty.”

Georgia was preceded in death by her father, Marion, her mother, Ada, her brothers, Jesse (Herb) Carter and Orville (Cotton) Carter, and her sisters, Lela Cabaniss, Loucille Lancaster, Katie Herrington, Pauline (Polly) Fuller, and Gladys Camp.

She is survived by her three children, Susan Wurl of Marble Falls, Russell Tutor and his wife, Sally, of Burnet, Jeri Norman and her husband, Reed, of Marble Falls, 13 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildrengrandchildren, 3 great-due to be born in 2021, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved Feebi, her very warmest and closest companion.

A private graveside service was held at the Salado Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Granite Mesa Health Center of Marble Falls, Texas for their compassionate and attentive care of their beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Aunt for the past one and a half years.
