Thomas Ellis Houy was born July 12, 1952 to Dayton Alarick Houy and Viva Ernesteen Ellis in Burnet, Texas. He passed away on January 29, 2021 at the age of 68.

Tommy loved his time on the baseball field, especially the summer of 1964 when his baseball team “won it all.” Tommy was a talented baseball pitcher and had a great fastball. A motorcycle wreck in high school ended his baseball playing days and instead of graduating with his class in 1970 he graduated from Marble Falls High School in 1971. After High School Tommy attended TSTI in Waco and earned a degree in Automotive Repair. Tommy married Kay Evans and they had two children, Michele and Michael.

Tommy opened Courtesy Auto on Broadway in Marble Falls with Cecil Stapleton and Charlie Ulbricht. They were in business for 25 years and lots of people in Marble Falls had their cars fixed by Tommy Houy.

Tommy expanded his business and started H & H Wrecker Service and was known for rescuing many people off the side of road, probably calling you a name in the process or giving you a nickname! If Tommy Houy teased you it meant he really liked you. He also loved his side-kick, Scratch, who furiously guarded his wrecker.

Tommy had a passion for classic cars and arguably his prized possession was his 1968 Roadrunner his Daddy gave him brand new for high school graduation, which he still has to this day. He loved going to car shows and riding motorcycles with his friends.

During his last years, Tommy spent most of his time with his friend Karen, who took very good care of him.

Tommy is survived by his daughter, Michele Frank and husband Ben, and their daughters Haley and Natalie of Burnet; son, Michael Houy and wife Stacy, and their sons Andrew and Zach of Marble Falls; brother Dayton Houy and wife Merlene of Marble Falls, Texas; and niece Kim Edwards and husband Rick and their sons Collin and Jared of Marble Falls.

Memorial services for Tommy Houy will be held on Monday, February 8, at 2 p.m. at Clement-Wilcox in Marble Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to give a donation of your choice to either Marble Falls Youth Baseball and Softball Association (mfybsa.com) or Faith Academy Baseball Field Fund (famf. org) in honor of Tommy Houy.
