Weldon Lanier Willbanks, age 83, of Marble Falls, Texas passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in his home. He was born to Alton and Marjorie Ann Willbanks on April 3, 1937 in Dew, Texas.

Mr. Willbanks proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1954 and served until 1958. Following his service, he attended San Angelo Junior College for a couple years. Weldon met his wife Pat in Austin, Texas and the two were married in Evant, Texas on September 28, 1957. Shortly after, they settled in Marble Falls, Texas in 1962.

Weldon immediately went to work at Home State Bank and then became very involved and active in the community. He was a founding member and past president of the Marble Falls Jaycees, the first president and founding member of the Kiwanis Club of Marble Falls, served as a president of the Marble Falls Water Board, and Director of the Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce. Weldon also served as a member and officer of the Marble Falls Rotary Club, member of the Marble Falls Rodeo, Association and Director of the Highland Lakes Tourist Association.

Mr. Willbanks worked in the banking industry initially, serving as the President of the Schertz State Bank from 1970-1974. He ultimately steered his career towards insurance and founded Willbanks Insurance Agency, in Marble Falls in 1974. The company later became Willbanks-Fields Insurance Agency and eventually sold to Watkins Insurance Group. He remained devoted to his community and his customers and went back to work for Watkins up until his last few weeks of life.

Weldon is survived by his wife, Pat Willbanks, daughter, Tracy Willbanks, granddaughters, Jessica Braun and Presley Casanova and siblings Compton Willbanks, Gloria White and Betty Brantner.

Weldon’s family expresses a heartfelt thank you to all the friends and family who have offered support and shared visits throughout all the years Weldon dealt with his health issues and kidney disease.
