Marble Falls H-E-B store director Rudy Gill, center, is joined by his son, Grant, and a number of H-E-B partners and city dignitaries, including Marble Falls Mayor John Packer and Horseshoe Bay Mayor Steve Jordan, in cutting the ribbon Thursday, Feb. 8, at the new 110,000-square-foot store on Ranch-to-Market Road 1431. The store officially opened at 6 a.m. today, Friday, Feb. 9.

Today, Friday, Feb. 9, H-E-B opens its doors to a new, world-class Marble Falls store.

Welcome to your new H-E-B,” store director Rudy Gill said Thursday at a sneak preview of the new 111,000-square-foot facility, located adjacent to its old store at 1503 RM 1431 West in Marble Falls.

I am extremely proud to serve this Marble Falls community and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you better,” Gill said. “Over the past few months, we have spent a lot of time putting together a great team to run this store. It is truly an honor for us to get to serve you. If there is anything we can do to make your experience better, we hope you will let us know.”

H-E-B on schedule for February opening

Shoppers began buzzing in mid-December about a Feb. 9 opening for the new Marble Falls H-E-B and now the company's home office in San Antonio has sent out a timeline that been counting down since groundbreaking for the 111,000 square-foot store in April.

The grocery story is, indeed, set to open Feb. 9, with that month through May devoted to demolition of the old store and continuation of site construction. The old H-E-B fuel station closed mid-summer and a celebration of the conclusion of the entire project will follow completion of a new gas station this coming fall.

H-E-B first opened its doors in Marble Falls on May 1, 1966. The current location opened in 1990. Over the last 20 years, H-E-B has spent nearly $7 million to improve and enhance the store, expanding it to 75,841 square feet on 5.35-acres.
