Burnet County Sheriff's Office investigators are looking for a suspect facing animal cruelty charges who left half a dozen puppies on the side of a rural county road.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) biologists say hunters can expect an exceptional 2021-22 white-tailed deer season. The statewide white-tailed deer population is estimated to be around 5.4 million deer and while it is down slightly from previous years, fawn recruitment (fawn survival rates) predictions indicate an overall robust population increase headed into the season.

Two measures on ballot for Horseshoe Bay

This November 2 is election day for eligible Horseshoe Bay voters. You must be registered to vote by October 4. Early voting starts October 18 through 29 at either the Horseshoe Bay City Hall for Horseshoe Bay in Llano County voters or the Marble Falls Courthouse South Annex, 810 Steve Hawkins Parkway for Horseshoe Bay in Burnet County voters. Election day voting locations are the same. The General Election for the unopposed incumbent candidates has been cancelled; however, there is still a need to vote as there is a Special Election for two very important City Propositions (A & B) that need citizen consideration and participation. These propositions deal with sales taxes.
