BCSO probes suspected arsons

Burnet County authorities have their hands full with a string of suspected arsons which has prompted them to pool investigative resources with local, regional and state agencies to find the culprits. The arson task force is investigating everything from an historic church and an auction barn to unoccupied residences and abandoned buildings, officials said.

Best friend adopts stray dog found at memorial

Burnet County’s animal control officer has responded to numerous calls but none like the incident which resulted in closure for a young woman mourning the loss of her best friend. “Someone had seen this dog multiple days, sleeping by a cross on county road 200 and thought I should look into it because there weren’t any houses around,” Burnet County Livestock Deputy Jason Jewett said.
