Two measures on ballot for Horseshoe Bay

This November 2 is election day for eligible Horseshoe Bay voters. You must be registered to vote by October 4. Early voting starts October 18 through 29 at either the Horseshoe Bay City Hall for Horseshoe Bay in Llano County voters or the Marble Falls Courthouse South Annex, 810 Steve Hawkins Parkway for Horseshoe Bay in Burnet County voters. Election day voting locations are the same. The General Election for the unopposed incumbent candidates has been cancelled; however, there is still a need to vote as there is a Special Election for two very important City Propositions (A & B) that need citizen consideration and participation. These propositions deal with sales taxes.

Horseshoe Bay Fire Rescue honors fallen soldiers

Horseshoe Bay Fire Rescue made a statement Sept. 1 by honoring the memory of the 13 troops who died during a terrorist attack in Afghanistan in August. “[W]e have set thirteen table settings that will not be occupied this evening as a poignant reminder of their service and sacrifice. Horseshoe Bay clears Air Park proposal for takeoff

Brian Frazee was commuting from his job in Dallas to his home in Horseshoe Bay as he always does several months ago when his aircraft was nearly hit by an oncoming vehicle on Air Park Street. Frazee is hoping some changes unanimously approved at the Tuesday, July 20, Horseshoe Bay City Council meeting will make travel along Air Park Street safer for airplane pilots like himself as well as motorists and pedestrians who also use the street.

Horseshoe Bay fire crews douse condo blaze

Horseshoe Bay fire crews, police and EMS, along with a ladder truck from Marble Falls, responded to a condo fire near the intersection of Poker Chip and Out Yonder shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday. According to HSB Fire Chief Brent Batla, when units arrived, there was heavy fire and smoke coming from the garage and upstairs window of the unit. He praised the job done by crews to keep the fire contained to the one unit and said all occupants of the building were safely out of harm’s way and no injuries were reported. Horseshoe Bay POA hears Mausoleum progress report

Horseshoe Bay Property Owners Association directors heard a positive report last month about progress made at the Horseshoe Bay Mausoleum and by the Memorial Association committee. Mausoleum Association Special Committee chairman Chuck Bard told directors the Mausoleum structure has been power washed and cleaned and both the structure and its associated fire danger have been assessed.
