City of Marble Falls hosts park movie nights

Young and old alike are welcome to the upcoming movies in Johnson Park series in March, May, October and December. The Parks and Recreation Department released the following lineup for the shows, which are featured on an outdoor pop-up theater: • Friday, March 18th: Pokémon Detective Pikachu Rated PG • Friday, May 13th: Spiderman: No Way Home Rated PG-13 • Friday, October 28th: Monster, Inc.

Local Veterans Day events to honor military service

The Marble Falls Noon Rotary Club will host a Veterans Day program which will feature patriotic images and presentations as well as recognition honoring local veterans. The event will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday Nov. 11 at the Rotary Veterans and First Responder Memorial at Johnson Park in Marble Falls.

Local entities to conduct 9/11 remembrance

The Sept. 11 attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Centers happened 20 years ago. Most of us remember where we were and how we felt when it happened. Organizations around Marble Falls are offering multiple ways to remember the events and discuss them with their friends and neighbors.

A Marble Falls streets department crew continued working Aug. 12 on parking lot upgrades in Johnson Park. Other work included installing more than a dozen limestone boulders adjacent to one of the park pavilions in an effort to prevent vehicles from driving from the asphalt lot onto a landscaped area to protect the irrigation system. Crews work on bank fix

Dig setbacks have temporarily stalled a multi-million dollar bank stabilization project along Backbone Creek, expected to restart soon as the city dips into contingency funds to repair issues including a raw water line construction mishap.

Mayfest returns to Marble Falls

The Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce and the City of Marble Falls are getting ready to celebrate the return of Mayfest from May 5-8 at Johnson Park. This festival features free entry, free concerts, recreational games, a carnival and beer, wine and yummy treats for purchase.
