Marble Falls Mayor John Packer read a proclamation Sept. 15 recognizing the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower voyage, 1620- 2020. Pictured with Packer are local Mayflower Society members, Janey Rives and Janet Daniel, who are descendants of the pilgrims. On Nov. 11, 1620, the Mayflower anchored at what is now Provincetown Harbor, Cape Cod. They drafted the famous Mayflower Compact, which was a precursor for modern day governance rejecting the British monarchy.
