Candidates lining up for primary races in Burnet County

Burnet County Elec- tion Administration cam - paign finance records in - dicate several candidates already have tossed their hats into the ring for elect - ed offices next year. The filing period for the primaries started Nov.

11 and ends Dec. 11.

In county races, doc - uments show that a num - ber of candidates will be seeking their party nominations. Susan Allen, Adrienne Feild and DeAnne Fisher have indicated they plan to run for Burnet County tax assessor.

Donald Knowles seeks to become the Pct. 2 constable.

Caleb Carrasco, Chad Collier, Homer Will and Cord Woerner have declared for Pct. 3 county commissioner.

Also, Scott Davis seeks election to a fullterm as Pct. 3 constable. Currently, Davis is serving the unexpired term of Chip Leake, who retired last year.

Incumbent 33rd/424th Judicial District Attorney Wiley “Sonny” McAfee has decided not to run for re-election.

Attorneys Marie Primm and Perry Thomas have announced publicly they intend to file for dis trict attorney to seek the Republican party nomination. See story published in the Friday, Nov. 17, issue of The Highlander.

Deadline for filing for the March primary election is 6 p.m Monday, Dec. 11.

Early voting for the March 2024 primaries will run from Tuesday, Feb. 20 through Friday, March 1.

The last day to register to vote in the primaries is Monday, Feb. 5. The primary election is March 5, 2024.
