Eye-catching landscapes beautify community
The Kingsland Garden Club is happy to announce the Octo- ber 2024 Beautification Award to the Kingsland Community Park’s Native Plant Garden. This was a joint project with finan cial support from Texas Garden Club, Kingsland Garden Club, the Kingsland/Lake LBJ Chamber & Visitor Center, and Sam’s Nursery. Special thanks to Mary Ann Atwood, Renee Case and Colleen Rominski of the Kingsland Garden Club for planning and maintenance of the garden.

New exhibit on Texas women’s suffrage movement
Beginning Oct. 28, the Falls on the Colorado Museum will present “Citizens at Last: The Woman Suffrage Movement in Texas,” an exhibition produced by Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Hill Country Men’s Golf Association plays Summit Rock
The Hill Country MGA played at Summit Rock in Horseshoe Bay on Monday and had 62 golfers competing for the prize money. Thank you SM &PT (Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy) for sponsoring the tournament. The weather was a little warm but fall is just around the corner and should be great for our next and last tournament of the year. That tournament will be at the Lakecliff Golf Club on November 4th. Our tournament at Summit Rock was a 2 man low ball net event with 31 teams competing.

Flames’ bye week is anything but restful
Though the Faith Academy of Marble Falls football team is on a bye this week, the Flames aren’t taking a vacation from the field. In fact, the Flames (25) are preparing for the final three games of the season that are their most important – all in District 4, Division II of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools.

For the time being, Marble Falls is the only city within the immediate Burnet and Llano County area that maintains an independent animal care facility. However, that circumstance may change during upcoming months.

Voters to decide tax rate hike to benefit schools
Voters within Marble Falls ISD will determine whether to raise their tax rate 2.67 cents to generate $2.2 million to help the district ease a budget deficit. Proposition A, a school funding election, will be on the ballot for the Nov.
