Packsaddle Elementary School in Kingsland received $10,000 towards the purchase of an awning for the playground area.

The check was presented Dec. 5, on the school’s Literacy Night just before the Christmas tree was lit. The school is located at 150 Pioneer Lane in Kingsland.

The first Kingsland/Lake LBJ Chamber’s “Taste Highland Lakes” festival, held Oct. 21, 2023, raised funds to benefit the school.

Principal Jennifer Caropepe said, “We are delighted to have the Kingsland Chamber present the check at our school’s Literacy Night and Tree Lighting. It is the perfect kick-off to the holiday season.

“This donation is much needed to help provide shade in the area where our students, teachers and Kingsland residents come to play.”
