The 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Fundraiser for the African American Museum raised approximately $1,200 with sponsorships and donations for the museum.

“The tournament went so well that after basketball season is over (in 2024) they plan on doing it on a larger scale,” said organizer Bessie Jackson said.

Construction is underway of the museum on the grounds of St. Frederick Church, 311 Avenue N in Marble Falls.

Campaign organizers, including Pastor Steve Perry, are looking to raise approximately $200,000.

Jackson said the effort has raised over $100,000 so far through grants and donations.

The group is accepting resource and equipment donations as well.

“Any construction company wanting to donate materials or services are welcome,” Jackson said.
