Central Texas singer-songwriters have experienced devastating losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic as many have been unable to find a place to perform or an audience to entertain - and for them, no gigs means no money.

The Horseshoe Bay Cultural Enrichment Society is inviting community music lovers to attend an outdoor benefit on the lakeside grounds at Quail Point Lodge in Horseshoe Bay for a fundraising concert to support these musicians who bring joy and life to the area music scene.

The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, and will feature an all-original music concert featuring local artists john Arthur martinez, Pauline Reese and Drew Womack — live and in person.

HSB Cultural Enrichment will pay the musicians their performance fees as its sole cost and tickets are only $10 each. All sales dollars will go to the musicians. There will be places provided for those so moved to make additional donations for the musicians and for purchasing their CDs.

Only 150 tickets will be available to the concert and tickets can be purchased online at hsbenrichment.org.

Patrons are asked to bring lawn chairs and bring their own beer, alcohol or snacks to the lakeside grounds at Quail Point. Masks should be worn, or some will be available, and attendees will be asked to keep social distance, use the provided hand sanitizers, and plan to have a great evening.

Reese and martinez were among those who performed at community concerts in April from Hampton Inn on the Lake in Marble Falls to benefit local businesses struggling due to COVID-19 shutdowns. Those concerts raised money for the Highland Lakes Crisis Network to help residents who experienced loss of income.
